Who came in with John yesterday?

One of the undocumented reasons for insomnia is the security (or the lack of it) at your business establishment. With the kind of crime levels that we see today, it makes a lot of sense to invest properly in good security systems to ensure that we are fully aware of the movement of people in our business establishment.

One of the most important and sure shot ways to ensure that there is no uninvited guests in our shops and establishes is to install a good CCTV camera system. For those of us who may be not be up-to-date with this technology, let me explain what this system is all about. CCTV stands for Closed Circuit Television camera. It is a security system that can monitor all the critical physical locations in your business or campus and capture the movements. One can use it to watch the movement remotely in real time or they can choose to record all the movements in a computer system to be reviewed and audited later on or whenever there is an incidence reported.

The CCTV camera system is very useful in various circumstances. For instance, you can monitor the various stalls and counters from a single place. This will help you prevent as well as catch shop lifters.  You can also monitor and record the movements in the shop when the shop is closed. Some advanced system might also send out alerts and alarms when there is a movement spotted in a place at a time when it should not.   There are indeed various scenarios where CCTV camera based security is often desired and sometimes even required.

In addition to such monitoring, one might also consider installing access cards based security as well. Access cards are of various types such as magnetic or RF based. These cards are encoded with special information about the access rights the possessor of the card has. When such a card is swiped in the card machine near the door, the device either opens or refuses access to the person based on their rights.  Combined with CCTV cameras one can easily identify the people who are attempting to gain access to sensitive locations of the office time and again.

The best way to find out right solution to your problem is to consult an Access Control installation expert who generally takes care of electrical maintenance in your area.

So then next time you find it difficult to fall asleep, consult a good security expert rather than call in for a visit to your doctor!

Sanitizing Your Kitchen Sinks Is Important!

Probably the biggest single push in modern household hygiene efforts has been directed at the kitchen as this is where the bulk of germs and bacteria can be found within the modern home. This has been a major problem because the handling of food is where germs are found and transmitted. Door handles have become a major focus of transmission as germs are moved by hand from one place to another but they are not the only source, there are many surface and working areas where the food is prepared that are extremely vulnerable. The result is a rapid and continual cleaning discipline that removes many of the problems. One of the other areas, which are being examined, is in the manufacture of kitchen equipment that is resistant or helpful in removing germs and bacteria.

The kitchen sink is one area where that problem is quite significant. It is the one area where all the germs and bacteria are sure to pass through, food is washed in the sink and all the cooking utensils are washed in the sink as well as all the serving dishes and plates. The result is a complete medley of bacteria, which require to be cleaned as soon as possible. The good manufacturers have tackled this by building their sinks of materials, which can be easily cleaned and the cleaning products have been developed to deal with this problem. The problem comes when the cleaning is not quite good enough or fast enough, there is always a gap between washing and overall cleaning.

One company has decided to do something about this by developing a sanitized system within the material that the sink is made from. Any bacteria which has been left unattended is estimated to multiply every 20 minutes but a Fragonite sink which has had a sanitising product included will reduce the bacteria growth by a claimed 99%. This does not stop the need for cleaning but it does put a substantial break onto the multiplication of germs at probably the most significant hub of the kitchen germ and bacteria production. The system works by using silver ions to deactivate the bacteria and because the system is built into the sink surface it works for 24 hours a day, the result is that instead of the bacteria building up in peaks as the bugs multiply with time until the next cleaning cycle the level remains at a low steady level. This greatly reduces the availability of bacteria to spread and hygiene is vastly improved.

Buying Time For A Fire

The start of a fire triggers a whole set of decisions which can determine the future for both company and employees. A serious fire can destroy the company in minutes as the insurance is never enough to take the full damage. The costs relating to loss of business and the confidence of the market place is often too great to bear. The damage to lives if people are caught up in the fire is immense. Fire prevention has become a major science and the work carried out has improved the problems by a considerable margin. It is claimed that the fire brigades have far more work with road crashes and that the call out for fire related incidents has dropped enormously over the years. The major problem is that in any room, house, factory or hotel there are still a number of items that can assist a file.

The hotel trade is a serious contender as the hotel has little or no control on what the customer brings into the hotel. The rooms are full of clothes and bedding as well as newspapers, non-conforming electrical equipment can be brought in and used with the management having no idea of its usage. The result is that this is an area where fires can and do start on a regular basis. Whilst these are restricted by tough fire procedures there is a strong case for ensuring that the fire is restricted as much as possible. If the fire can be limited in the way that it spreads there is a considerable advantage to both safety and damage. One of the major problems with fire is being able to get a great many people quickly and safely from the building, when the problem occurs in the middle of the night and some of those people are very young and some who are very old the size of the problem magnifies.

Fire can be controlled by keeping it as long as possible in the room concerned. The use of Fischer intumescent pillows, collars and pads do help considerably and can provide an extra 2 hours before a fire breaks through to another room. Each room has a self-closing door and if all the gaps in the wall below the floor and above the ceiling are totally sealed the chances of the fire spreading is much reduced. Intumescent pads can be moulded around the plugs and light switches to stop fires spreading along the electrical cables, intumescent collars can be placed on the pipework to stop fires going through the gaps and fire pillows can be placed in larger gaps. An intumescent filler can be used on brickwork gaps. It sounds a lot but so many hotel fires run along the ceilings and this is often avoidable.

The Facts About Breast Reduction Surgery

Large breasts may be considered desirable, but often they can cause discomfort, embarrassment and even pain. If you are considering embarking upon breast reduction surgery, it is important to ensure that you have all of the facts before you go under the knife. Like any surgical procedure, cosmetic surgery is a serious undertaking, and it is essential to make sure that surgery is the best option for you and your health.

There are a number of reasons why you may be considering breast reduction surgery. Large breasts can cause great discomfort for women, and are linked to a variety of conditions from back and neck pain to skin irritation. The difficulty of finding fashionable clothes which fit, the inconvenience of playing sport or exercising, and derogatory comments which can be aimed at those with larger breasts make it easy to see why so many women consider undergoing breast reduction surgery.

Breast reduction surgery, or a reduction mammoplasty, is the most effective way to reduce the weight and volume of breasts to bring some much-needed relief to those who are suffering from the effects of a large bust. Your aim should always be to achieve breasts which are in proportion to the rest of your body. Breast size can vary throughout the course of your life, depending on your body weight, hormones and genes.

It is recommended that you begin by discussing the procedure with your GP. They will be able to offer some initial advice as to whether the procedure is suitable for you, taking into consideration your general health and medical history. It is important to remember that the majority of cosmetic surgery is not offered by the NHS, which means that you will most likely have to pay for surgery from an accredited clinic. Your GP will be able to recommend a highly-qualified surgeon who can provide the level of care and impressive results you are looking for.

During a consultation with your cosmetic surgeon, you will be able to gain answers to any questions you might have whilst also discussing the results you expect to see following the procedure. Your surgeon should explain the process in detail and will give you some idea of how your breasts will look by marking the area to be reduced. The aim of this consultation is to ensure that you have all of the facts you need before embarking upon cosmetic surgery.

A breast reduction procedure will be completed under general anaesthetic, and you should expect to remain in hospital for one or two nights. During the procedure, your surgeon will remove excess fat and glandular tissue before repositioning the nipple to define your breast. Dissolvable sutures will be used, and dressings will be applied once the procedure is complete. Drainage tubes will also be inserted to remove any excess fluid.

As with any cosmetic surgery, recovery is one of the most important stages of your procedure. You may experience some bruising or swelling, but taking time to rest can help your body to recover quicker. It is recommended that you avoid vigorous exercise for up to four weeks after your operation to allow your breasts to heal, and by being careful during this recovery period you can help to reduce the risk of future problems.

By understanding the breast reduction procedure and knowing the facts about this surgery, you can ensure that you have realistic expectations, and can reduce the risk of disappointment. Breast reduction is the best option when you are looking to reduce your breast size whilst increasing your comfort and confidence, but make sure that you are fully-informed before embarking upon this serious procedure.

Can Duvet Days Really Improve The Workplace?

There are days when all you want to do is get back under the covers and do nothing, but unfortunately for most of us this luxury rarely happens as you can only snooze the alarm clock for so long before you have to drag yourself out of bed and head off for another day at work. When the weekend comes, it’s time to really enjoy snuggling down under your soft and warm down duvet for what has now been coined the ‘Duvet Day’. The problem with this however is that you get racked with guilt as you only have 2 days off from work and feel you should really be making the most of them by doing some of those tasks you have been putting off for weeks.

The idea of a duvet day has been introduced in businesses across America, with benefit packages offering employers a duvet day at short notice for those days when you just can’t pull yourself out of bed.

It’s estimated that people in the UK take on average 180 million sick days a year, of which approximately 27 million of those are seen to be fake. With this in mind, it’s time to consider the duvet day and how allowing workers to take a legitimate day off at short notice to spend it in their favourite bed time accessory could benefit the workplace.

Working days are becoming longer which will not only have a detrimental effect on your social life but also your health. This is where a duvet day will give you that much needed boost. Relaxing in front of daytime TV will give your body the chance to unwind, lowering both your heart and breathing rate. It will also increase blood flow to your muscles which will help to release any tension.

Spending the day cuddled up in your duvet will also help to enhance your immune system, giving you substantially more energy and most importantly increasing your concentration when back at work.

The return day after a ‘sickie’ is one that most people dread as they are racked with guilt and get anxious over trying to continue the façade of having the common ‘24 hour bug’. A duvet day will help to eliminate this unneeded stress and reduce the amount of sick days employees take.

Employer and employee relationships can hugely benefit by introducing duvet days in the workplace. For many, employers pay the wage packet at the end of month and far from that don’t see you as a real person but merely a cog in the workplace of their business. However if you’re a business owner, introducing duvet days will show your employees that you care about their health and well being.

Although there are pros and cons on both sides of the argument, the tired and weary office worker will almost certainly believe that a duvet day is just what’s needed to boost morale and energy. The key to making it work however is to get the balance right; as an employer you will need to set out strict guidelines about how many days can be taken, the notice needed and consider restrictions on certain days when you can’t afford to be without staff.

Perhaps you shouldn’t get your hopes up about spending tomorrow cuddled in your down duvet just yet but the mere idea that it might be introduced into UK companies one day is enough to keep holding out hope!

Natural Pain Management Techniques

Pain management is an issue that’s always on chronic pain sufferers’ minds. When you have to experience persistent pain day in and day out, either because of a debilitating body injury or a condition such as cancer, pain killers are not a suitable solution. This is because over time, the human body starts resisting all forms of pain killers. Severe pain inhibitors cause side effects such as damage to brain cells, which is another reason why chronic sufferers are constantly on the lookout for natural pain management techniques.

1.STRESS MANAGEMENT

Your daily stresses can cumulate in your muscles which tense in response. Tense muscles decrease pain tolerance, which means the more stressed you are, the more your body perceives the pain. There are several excellent natural techniques you can use to manage your stress, such as visualization, meditation, deep breathing, self-hypnosis, distraction and so on.

2.BIOFEEDBACK

Biofeedback uses different relaxation techniques combined with monitoring instruments to evaluate a patient’s response to specific therapies. It takes several biofeedback treatments to train the body to consciously regulate one’s blood pressure and heart rate, which are the body’s autonomic functions. Used regularly over time, biofeedback sessions can help you control pain.

3.ACUPUNCTURE

Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese tradition where fine needles are inserted into specific pressure points under the skin. This technique unblocks the energy channels of the body, called meridians, which balances the flow of energy in the body. Acupuncture can also be used to temporarily block the passage of pain signals to the brain so that local surgeries can take place without anesthesia.

4.HYDROTHERAPY

In the hydrotherapy technique, water is used to alleviate pain. Hydrotherapy alternates the use of hot and cold water on different areas to ease stress, reduce inflammation, stimulate the flow of blood and rid the body of pain causing toxins.

5.PAIN RELIEVING THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE DEVICES

There are specific therapeutic massage devices used by naturopaths that operate by amplifying the infrasonic sound of the human body, invigorating the local area. This sort of device facilitates neurons and improves the nerve communication pathways to the brain, and is highly effective on chronic pain due to acute injuries. The device actually reduces pain-causing enzymes in the blood, encouraging cellular repair.

These therapeutic massagers offer a gentle, penetrating massage action to help loosen and relax your muscles so that they can be more easily manipulated. The muscles stay relaxed in their proper position so that there’s no restricted circulation or pinched nerve. Nerve function is facilitated, which breaks down the pain-stimuli-pain cycle, breaking the cycle and providing long term relief from pain.

6.TAI CHI

Tai Chi is another of ancient China’s answers to modern medicine. Tai Chi involves performing a series of slow movements that are coordinated with complete mental focus and deep breathing techniques. Tai Chi internalizes one’s focus and drives pain to the periphery.

7.YOGA

Yoga is India’s contribution to natural pain relieving techniques. Yoga involves relaxing the body and stretching it into formations that increase the flow of energy, remove toxins, build strength, stabilize joints and relieve pain.

8.PROLOTHERAPY

Prolotherapy is called non-surgical ligament reconstruction, because proliferation of inflammation is produced in the area where healing is required, by injecting an irritant such as dextrose solution into the soft tissues.

9.HERBAL MEDICINE

All ancient cultures have a huge treasure trove of herbal medical formulations to cure everything from lice to cancer. Visit a well known naturopath or herbalist to get a customized herbal package that suits your needs. Ayurveda is an excellent option in this area. At home, try herbs such as feverfew, peppermint, skullcap, rosemary, valerian root and angelica to relieve pain.

10.BIOMESOTHERAPY

In this method, homoeopathic products are injected into the body along with saline solutions to stimulate specific parts of the body. These injections are intramuscular, and they stimulate the body’s cutivisceral response. Homeopathic medicines are also delivered orally at the same time, to focus directly on the illness or the injured organ that needs healing. Homeopathic medicines have no side effects and they work by stimulating the body’s own natural healing mechanism

11. VISUALIZATION

Visualization, also known as guided imagery, can be used to control pain. This technique is used to train suffers to think their thoughts using positive and affirmative pictures. These images raise the levels of feel good hormones in the brain which improve the immune system and help decrease anxiety, thereby increasing pain tolerance.

12.NUTRITIONAL SUPPLEMENTS

Several natural nutritional supplements have been known to be beneficial in pain therapy. Your regular vitamins and minerals enhance your body’s immunity and strength, which helps you fight pain better. Certain nutritional supplements such as chondroitin sulfate and glucosamine sulfate are effective to fight knee osteoarthritis pain. Omega-3 oils, antioxidants to reduce free radicals and improve blood circulation, and excellent dietary nutrition all help fight pain.

Fad Diets

High-Fats, Low-Carbohydrate Diets – Tens of millions of Americans have joined the low-carb craze and began excessive-fat, low-carb diets such because the Atkins Food regimen, and the Zone Diet. They’re made up of about 60% fats, 10% carbohydrate, and 30% protein. These diets say you’ll be able to eat high amounts of fat and protein while getting very low amounts of carbohydrates within the form of vegetables. The principle premise of the low-carb eating regimen is that a weight loss program low in carbohydrates leads to a reduction in body?s manufacturing of insulin. The tip result’s that fat and protein stores will probably be used for energy. So that you stuff yourself filled with limitless quantities of meat, cheese, and butter, and solely eat a small portion of carbohydrates.

People who start the weight-reduction plan often lose a large amount of weight, but it?s not permanent weight loss. Instead of burning fats, the lose water and precious muscle tissue. Furthermore, these diets are low in several nutrients and include excess quantities of cholesterol and saturated fat, substances that enhance the risk of heart disease. Plus, no matter what they claim, the big quantities of protein put a pressure on your kidneys.

Average Fat Diets – Next, there are the average fats diets. Reasonable fat diets include diets like Weight Watchers, the USDA Food Guide Pyramid, and Jenny Craig. These diets are made up of about 25% fat, 60% carbohydrate, and 15% protein. They encourage the consumption of whole grains, fruits, greens, and essential fatty acids present in meals like olive oil and salmon. These diets are usually nutritionally balanced if the dieter eats quite a lot of foods from all categories. For instance, Weight Watchers operates on a degree system where foods get various points primarily based on calorie, fiber, and fats content. Dieters get a certain amount of points they’ll use for the day. Whereas it?s not inspired, they might choose to spend most of their points on carbohydrates instead of balancing it out. This might result in deficiencies in vitamins resembling calcium, iron, and zinc. Nonetheless, if followed properly, these diets are in all probability the most successful for reducing weight and holding it off.

Low and Very Low-Fats Diets – Lastly, you’ve gotten your low-fat and very low-fat diets. Diets on this class embody the Dr. Dean Ornish?s Diet and the Pritkin Plan, amongst others. They’re made up of about thirteen% fats, 70% carbohydrates, and sixteen% protein. These diets are largely vegetarian diets and don?t advocate eating a variety of meat. Like the low-carb diets, you’ll be able to eat limitless amounts of sure foods. Because you can?t eat a whole lot of meat, these diets are deficient in zinc, vitamin B12, and important fatty acids. Additionally, it’s so restrictive that people discover a hard time staying on it for all times and end up gaining their weight back.

Buying A Portable Hot Tub

Well you may have decided that you want to go out and buy a nice new hot tub, and to an extent even the very large ten-seater models are portable.

However most of them will need some form of mechanical aid, be it a pallet truck, forklift truck or even a crane for a large hot spa, to move them around.

Indeed if you put a tub in somewhere then you a can move it out again. But the cost of using a crane to put a hot tub in place can be over a thousand pounds, and so if you want to move it out again if you move house, then expect to pay around the same again.

In addition you may find that logistically you cannot even use a crane to put a hot tub in to place, due to logistics such as power cables or trees being in the way.

Or you may rent a house and move around often, and thus such a cost of moving a hot tub on a regular basis would be prohibitive.

Well fortunately for you, there is an alternative to the traditional Acrylic or cedar wood tubs, and that is portable hot tubs.

These tubs offer the majority of things a normal one offers (But not all, such as underwater lighting), but come with the benefit that they are portable, and can be assembled anywhere, even indoors.

They come in two common forms – inflatable tubs, and panel kit ones.

With the inflatable tubs, you simply unpack them, pump them up until the sidewall is rigid, attach the water heater/pump, and the air pump for the jets, and then fill it with water.

The panel kits come in a box. Simply unpack the panels and the upright supports, and then slide the panels in to the interlocking uprights. You then place a liner inside the assembled tub, attach the water heater/pump, and the air pump, and fill up with water.

These panel kits are known as spa in a box kits, and can look very much like a normal tub once installed. Having rigid sides they are more durable than an inflatable tub. Accordingly if you want to use one all year round but cannot afford a “Normal” acrylic tub, which may cost several thousand, then this type of portable hot tub is probably the one that you should go for. It may cost slightly more than an inflatable one, however it will be more durable and look better in your garden, or on your patio.

In either case once filled with water, they heat up fairly fast, and if you build one in the morning, you could be using it by the evening.

Either of these types of portable hot tubs can be located just about anywhere you want outside or inside.
They also have one other major advantage and that is the cost! They are far cheaper to buy varying from around £800 to around £1,500 for a spa in a box hot tub. So consider a portable hot tub today.
